Kuwait's trade balance surplus during the first 8 months of 2024 decreased by about 7.45 percent annually. It also fell by about 25.57 percent during last August. Kuwait recorded a trade surplus of 8.45 billion compared to 9.13 billion during the same period of 2023.
According to the Central Bureau of Statistics, the volume of Kuwaiti exports fell 5.68 percent to 15.95 billion, compared to 16.91 billion. Exports of oil and its derivatives to Kuwait in the first 8 months of 2024, worth 14.54 billion dinars, represented 91.1 percent of the country's export volume, compared to 15.77 billion exports in the same period last year, representing 93.3 percent of Kuwait's total exports. Kuwait received imports worth 7.51 billion dinars, down 3.6 percent from the same period of 2023 of 7.78 billion.
