The Central Bank of Kuwait's General Reserve Fund recorded its largest increase in the past month, increasing by 33.8 percent or KWD 491 million. The CBK's balance rose to KWD 1.943 billion, up from KWD 1.451 billion recorded in December.
This increase came after the balance had been stable during the first four months of 2025 at KWD 1.451 billion, noting that the previous increase was KWD 451 million.
Central Bank data for May showed a 4.4 percent decline in government accounts, or KWD 75 million, to KWD 1.615 billion, compared to KWD 1.69 billion recorded in December. This decline was a 12.2 percent decline in May alone.
