The small and medium sized enterprises occupy the heart of the Arab Private Sector and it form the majority of the Arab private companies. It plays also a major role in capital investments and creating job opportunities for the labor forces.

It is well known with its flexibility and ability to transfer and localize the technology and keeping up with modern developments; they also play an important role in social welfare through providing an important element in order to build a well-balanced social system able to contribute in preserving and developing the personal freedom and the self-reliance.

This survey aims to track the situation of the small and medium sized companies in the Arab World in terms of their activities, orientations, the difficulties they are facing in their performance, expanding and developing their businesses and their future expectations. The plan is to form a realistic image for the performance of these companies and specifying the foundations of their success and development and deducing the policies should be applied to provide the appropriate environment.
