The Bank of France said hosting the Olympic Games gave a boost to the country's services sector in August, but the political crisis still casts a shadow over the economic outlook.
According to the bank's monthly survey of corporate results, France, the euro zone's second-largest economy, is on track for core growth of 0.1-0.2 percent in the third quarter compared to the previous month.
France's national statistics agency forecast the economy would grow 0.4 percent in the third quarter but could shrink 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter as the push from hosting the Olympics fades.
