Saudi Central Bank Assets Reach $437 Billion

The Saudi Central Bank's (SAMA) total reserve assets reached SAR 1.64 trillion ($437 billion) at the end of April, compared to SAR 1.66 trillion ($442 billion) in the same period last year, representing a 1.2 percent year-on-year decline.

Reserve assets decreased by 3.5 percent month-on-month, having reached SAR 1.7 trillion ($453 billion) in March. Saudi Arabia's reserve position with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) declined by 5 percent year-on-year to SAR 12.6 billion ($3.3 billion). Saudi reserve assets include investments in foreign securities, foreign exchange, deposits abroad, reserves with the IMF, special drawing rights, and monetary gold.
