Algeria's Foreign Exchange Reserves Increased to $72 Billion

Algerian Finance Minister Aziz Fayed confirmed that foreign exchange reserves without gold have risen by 4%. It rose from $69 billion by the end of 2023 to $72 billion by the end of this year.

In a speech during the presentation of the 2025 budget bill to members of the House of Representatives, Fayed revealed that the trade balance surplus will reach $ 2.8 billion at the close of 2024, which is equivalent to 1.1% of the gross domestic product that amounted to $ 267 billion, last year, which made Algeria third in Africa after South Africa and Egypt.

He also expected economic growth next year to reach 4.4 percent, compared to 4.1 percent this year, as the non-hydrocarbon sector is expected to contribute to GDP, by 4.7 percent, from 4.3 percent.
