‘OPEC’ Cuts Forecasts for Global Oil Demand Growth in 2024 and 2025

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has lowered its forecast for global oil demand growth for 2024 in line with data it has received since the beginning of the year. It also trimmed its forecast for next year in the group's second downward revision. The organization indicated in its monthly report that global oil demand will rise by 2.03 million barrels per day in 2024, down from growth of 2.11 million barrels per day in last month's forecast.

OPEC also lowered its estimate for global demand growth in 2025 to 1.74 million barrels per day from 1.78 million barrels per day.
