Oil prices declined on Thursday, July 10, 2025, amid expectations that recent tariff-related announcements by U.S. President Donald Trump may weigh on global economic growth and reduce demand for this key energy source.

Brent crude futures dropped by 22 cents, or 0.31%, to $69.97 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude lost 27 cents, or 0.39%, to $68.11 a barrel.

President Trump had threatened Brazil—the largest economy in Latin America—with a 50% tariff on its exports to the United States, following a public dispute with his Brazilian counterpart Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
