The value of remittances from workers in Qatar abroad during the third quarter of last year decreased by 1.3 percent to 10.24 billion riyals ($2.8 billion), compared to 11,057 in the second quarter. It decreased by 1.1 percent compared to the third quarter of 2022, according to balance of payments data issued by the Qatar Central Bank.
Workers’ transfers during the first half of 2023 recorded an increase of about 0.3 percent on an annual basis to record 22.22 billion riyals, while during the year 2022 they increased by 11.7 percent to about 44.1 billion riyals on an annual basis, compared to 39.5 billion riyals in the year 2021.
