The Qatari Cabinet approved the start of the application of flexible working hours and the remote work system, which is scheduled to take effect at the end of this month. The Cabinet approved the proposal of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau regarding the working hours during the week and the mechanism for organizing them, the remote work system, and flexible working hours.

The flexible work and remote work system will be implemented in government entities and will be implemented on September 29. The implementation of this system comes within the framework of achieving the two pillars of human and social development of the Qatar National Vision 2030. This system represents a positive step towards achieving the Third National Development Strategy 2024-2030, and enhances sustainability in the work environments in the government sector, as it will allow employees to reconcile their work and their families, and works to empower vulnerable groups such as working mothers and persons with disabilities.
