The Libyan House of Representatives voted in an official session held at its headquarters in the city of Benghazi, to adopt the general budget submitted by the government for the current year worth 179 billion dinars ($ 36.90 billion).

The budget proposal was voted "unanimously" during the session, which was chaired by Speaker of the House of Representatives Aguila Saleh, and his deputies Fawzi Al-Noueiri and Mesbah Douma.

The House of Representatives approved at the end of April April the budget proposal of the House of Representatives, but worth 90 billion dinars, to be referred to the Finance Committee of the House of Representatives to discuss a number of observations with the government and include them before voting on them. A new allocation of 98 billion dinars was added to the budget, reaching 179 billion dinars, in a clear indication that this addition aims to cover the parallel spending by the government of the House of Representatives for previous years.
