Central Bank of Libya: Liquidity Improves and Deposits Increase in 2024

Data released by the Central Bank of Libya showed that total banking assets, excluding regular computers, rose from 158.7 billion dinars (about 32.4 billion dollars) at the end of 2023 to higher levels in 2024.

Balances increased from 93.4 billion dinars at the end of 2023 to about 114 billion dinars at the end of 2024, an increase of 20.7 billion dinars, and a growth rate of 22.1 percent. The balance of the actual surplus liquidity with banks also witnessed a significant increase, reaching 78 billion dinars at the end of 2024, compared to 62.5 billion dinars at the end of 2023, an increase of 15.5 billion dinars, and by 24.8 percent.
