E-commerce in the Moroccan market has witnessed a remarkable boom over the past few years, with it occupying advanced ranks both in Africa and the world, according to a report by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
It expects e-commerce revenues in Morocco to reach about $3.1 billion by 2027. Online sales accelerated during the lockdown period, with revenue growth more than doubling from 14.7 percent in 2019 to 36.5 percent in 2020.
According to UNCTAD's e-commerce index among businesses and consumers, Morocco ranked sixth, after Mauritius, South Africa, Tunisia, Nigeria, and Kenya.
