The Moroccan Ministry of Tourism revealed that Morocco welcomed 7.2 million tourists by the end of May, a 22 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
The ministry indicated that this influx translates into an additional 1.3 million tourists, representing an exceptional growth of 68 percent compared to 2019, before the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought the Moroccan and global tourism sector into a recession. It noted that these figures "reflect the continuous development witnessed by the Moroccan tourism sector since 2024."
Morocco aims to welcome 26 million tourists by 2030. Morocco welcomed a record number of 17.4 million tourists in 2024, a 20 percent increase compared to the previous year.
