Jordan Achieves Leap in Tourism Revenue Growth

Data from the Central Bank of Jordan showed that the income of the tourism sector increased by 41.3 percent during the past eight months of this year, with an annual comparison, driven by the rise in the number of tourists. From January to the end of August, revenues were about 3.651 billion dinars ($5.1 billion).

According to the bank, the rise was driven by the increase in the number of incoming tourists, which reached about 4.5 thousand tourists, with a growth rate of 41.9 percent.

The number of overnight tourists increased to about 3.757 thousand tourists with a growth rate of 38.5 percent, while the number of one-day tourists reached about 747 thousand tourists with a growth rate of 61.3 percent.
