The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism revealed that the tourism sector has received investment inflows amounting to approximately OMR 2.59 billion ($6.74 billion) since the launch of the tenth five-year plan in 2021.

The plan aims to attract approximately OMR 3 billion ($7.8 billion), with a focus on empowering small and medium enterprises and ensuring their integration into tourism value chains.

The government aims to increase the number of annual visitors to more than 11 million by 2040, compared to approximately 4 million tourists at the end of last year. Thus, the Omani government is close to achieving its investment goals for the tourism industry in the current five-year plan, which ends this year, amid intensive efforts by officials to develop this vital sector, which is important for diversifying sources of income.
