The assets of the banking sector in the UAE increased during the 9 months (to the end of September) by 8 percent, or AED 326 billion, to reach AED 4.401 trillion by the end of September 2024, compared to AED 4.075 trillion by the end of December 2023.
According to UAE Central Bank statistics, assets increased year-on-year, by 22.83 percent, or AED 818 billion, compared to AED 3.583 trillion at the end of September 2023.
As for deposits, they increased by 9.48 percent in 9 months, or AED 239 billion to reach AED 2.761 trillion, the highest level in their history, compared to AED 2.522 trillion at the end of December 2023. On an annual basis, it increased by 26.3 percent or AED 575 billion, compared to AED 2.186 trillion at the end of September 2023.
