The United Arab Emirates topped global markets in mobile commerce, according to the “2025 Global Digital Shopping Index” commissioned by Visa. The report, based on a survey of 1,679 consumers and 329 merchants, highlighted the growing role of mobile devices in shaping consumer behavior.
In the UAE, 67% of consumers used their phones for their most recent purchase. The country recorded the highest global rate of mobile e-commerce at 37%, ahead of Singapore (34.8%), the UK (27.6%), and Brazil (24.4%).
Additionally, 53% of UAE consumers expressed a preference for shopping through multiple channels—physical stores, digital platforms, and various devices—ranking second globally in this category.
