The conflict has cut Lebanon's real GDP growth by 6.6 percent this year, exacerbating Lebanon's 5-year severe economic contraction to exceed 34 percent of real GDP, the World Bank has revealed.

The World Bank indicated in the preliminary assessment report of damage and losses in Lebanon that the cost of material damage and economic losses amounted to about $ 8.5 billion, the material damage alone amounted to $ 3.4 billion, and the economic losses amounted to $ 5.1 billion.

The report also addressed the impact of the conflict on the people in Lebanon, where it is estimated that there are more than 875,000 internally displaced people, with women, children, the elderly, people with disabilities, and refugees at the greatest risk. It is estimated that about 166,000 people lost their jobs, which equates to a decrease in incomes of $168 million.
