A Reuters poll showed global growth is expected to average 3.1 percent this year, a sharp improvement from 2.6 percent in the January poll, up from 2.9 percent in April and stable compared to a survey three months ago.
Overall growth in the global economy is expected to remain at 3 percent next year, according to a Reuters poll of 50 important economies conducted Sept. 30-Oct. 30.
While there were widespread concerns earlier this year that the U.S. economy could suffer the effects of the highest interest rates in more than two decades, its resilience has consistently surprised economists and markets.
