South Korea's Economy Creates More Than 100,000 Jobs for the Second Consecutive Month

Data from the Korea Statistics Authority showed South Korea's economy created more than 100,000 jobs for the second consecutive month in August.

The number of employed people in the country reached 28.80 million last month, up 123,000 from the same period last year. In July, monthly job gains reached more than 100,000 for the first time in 3 months to 172,000.

The country created 96,000 jobs year-on-year in June after an 80,000 increase in May. May's figure was the lowest since February 2021.
