The Jordanian Minister of Finance, Mohamad Al-Ississ, revealed that the Jordanian government has prepared a national program for financial and economic reform, in order to meet the economic challenges facing Jordan, restore balance to public finances and eliminate imbalances in them, and to achieve greater efficiency in spending public money and stopping waste, and controlling budget and debt deficits.

During his presentation of the draft budget law for the next year, he affirmed to the House of Representatives that "the national framework will inevitably intersect with the priorities of the State of Takaful and the rule of law, but this intersection will complement one another and not contradict it, as improving economic reality and increasing the efficiency of spending will necessarily reflect on the quality of services provided to the citizens."

Dr. Al-Ississ stressed that "the national program will be a pure Jordanian program that is designed with purely Jordanian hands, and as a result of internal dialogue and consensus and stems from full confidence in our ability to define our national priorities for the next stage," adding that "The relationship with the IMF is a participatory consultative relationship, aimed at reaching understandings that guarantee to accelerate the pace of economic growth and we have found a positive reaction from the IMF to the national program. We will be clear that there is no tax rise, nor an alternative to improving the citizen’s living reality and directing unemployment rates downward while maintaining the sanctity of financial stability.”
