The Chairman of the Union of Arab Chambers, Senator Nael Raja Al-Kabariti, called for investing in Iraq "the torrential country, in order to rebuild what has been ruined by humans and terrorism."
The words of President Kabariti came during a speech at the opening of the forum "Investment Opportunities & Reconstruction in Iraq" organized by the General Secretariat of the Iraqi Council of Ministers, the National Commission for Investment in Iraq and the Economic and Business Group, in the presence of the Secretary General of the Iraqi Council of Ministers Dr. Mahdi Al-Allak representing the Prime Minister Dr. Haider Abadi , in addition to a large number of officials in Iraq and businessmen from Iraq and the Arab countries.
Al-Kabariti stressed that "Iraq is a fertile soil for investment and economic growth, based on two factors that are fundamental and important. The first factor is the Iraqi people, who love development and modernity and keep pace with everything that the world reaches in various aspects of life, with its good and growing purchasing power. Whereas the second factor are the bylaws and procedural actions taken by the Iraqi government and parliament, including the investment law and amendments applied to it in the past period in the presence of an Iraqi readiness to facilitate our mission in Iraq.
Mr. Kabariti emphasized that "Iraq needs the support of its Arab brothers, and we are here today to meet the appeal, showing our firm conviction that the victory over terrorism needs development which helps Iraq and the Iraqi people to rise."
He also stated that "because the process of reconstruction needs all of us, let this forum be under a new stage is passing through, a window of hope and a start point for the launch towards the bright horizon, so nothing should hinder our way or stumble in our path. The possibilities exist and Iraq is specialized from the other Arab countries, that it combines the abundance of water and vast areas of arable lands, and abundant of natural resources, especially oil.
Mr. Kabariti also stressed that "all of us are concerned today, based on our Arabism and our Islam, to be involved with the battle of development and construction alongside our Iraqi brothers, so that the Iraqi economy can rise after the stalemate, by establishing giant national projects that benefit not only the Iraqis but also the other Arab peoples which have cultural, historical and geographical ties with. "
He also considered that "The productive economy is the economy of brains, not wealth that exceeds the wealth of thought. On this basis, the Arab world and Iraq is an important part of it, they need to promote investment in human resources, whether in education, health or in supporting promising youth powers. The Iraqi youth is the most important wealth ever, whose creative energies must be exploited in order to advance and move forward for a promising Iraqi and Arab future for all of us and for our future generations. "
Beside, a number of agreements have been signed between International and Arab institutions to implement projects in various productive sectors, particularly in the infrastructure, hotel and tourism sectors, in addition to rehabilitation of the construction and housing markets, the construction of commercial centers and an industrial city in Baghdad aside the construction of hospitals, and other projects that serve Iraq and the Iraqi people.
