Jordan Raises Minimum Wage

Jordan's Tripartite Labor Commission approved raising the minimum wage in the private sector to about $410. In the presence of the Minister of Labor, Dr. Khaled Al-Bakkar, who chaired the meeting of the committee, where the decision was taken unanimously by representatives of the concerned parties, namely the government, employers, and workers.

The committee specified the application of raising the minimum wage for workers in the private sector from 260 to 290 Jordanian dinars, starting from the beginning of January 2025 until December 31, 2027.

The Committee indicated that the decision comes in the context of keenness to raise the standard of living of a large segment of workers in the private sector, and is in line with the balance between the right of workers to improve their wages and the economic conditions of employers.
