Morocco is heading towards a record number of tourists this year, after the first ten months of the year made a jump of about a fifth, which supports foreign exchange reserves, which are expected to stabilize in the range of $ 36 billion.
Data from the Ministry of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy showed that the number of tourists who visited the Kingdom during the period from January to the end of October reached 14.6 million, an increase of 19% compared to the same period last year.
The increase in the number of tourists comes as a result of the increase in foreign visitors by about 1.3 million people, and expatriates who visited the Kingdom by 1 million people. The number of tourists exceeded what was achieved in the whole of 2023, which recorded 14.5 million tourists, an increase of 34%, compared to 2022, and an increase of 12% over before the Corona pandemic in 2019. Reaching 14.6 million tourists in ten months, thanks to the reception of about 1.5 million tourists in October alone, an exceptional increase of 30% compared to the same month last year.
