Qatar's net foreign assets deficit increased by 0.75 percent month-on-month to about 407 billion riyals in September.
Data on the monetary position of the banking system issued by the Qatar Central Bank last month showed a decrease in the assets of banks in Qatar with their foreign counterparts to reach about 274.7 billion riyals, while liabilities recorded an increase of 3.7 billion riyals on a monthly basis to reach about 681.7 billion riyals.
The consolidated financial statements of banks in Qatar showed that the value of assets increased by 5.6% year-on-year to about 2.03 trillion riyals (the highest ever) last month, supported by a 7.3% rise in total loans and advances at about 1.35 trillion riyals.
