The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development revealed that Egypt achieved a growth rate of 3.8 percent, and an increase in GDP of 10.2 trillion pounds, during the year 2023-2022, despite the target of 9.2 trillion pounds in the same year.
The Ministry of Planning and Economic Development stated, in a report, it issued on the most important indicators of the Egyptian economy and their developments in light of the current global challenges, that despite the continuing global economic and geopolitical challenges and changes from the rise in global inflation, the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, as well as global challenges, the most prominent economic activities that achieved positive growth rates during the fiscal year as a whole included the restaurants and hotels sectors, recording 28 percent, the Suez Canal, 18.4 percent, communications and information technology, 16.3 percent, social services, which include health and education, recording 5.8 percent, and agriculture, 4.1 percent.
