Annual urban consumer inflation in Egypt declined to 14.9% in June, down from 16.8% in May. This marks the first drop after three consecutive months of increases.
Data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed that monthly inflation shrank by 0.1% in June, compared to a 1.9% rise in May.
The Central Bank of Egypt had previously forecast that annual headline inflation would continue to ease throughout the remainder of 2025 and into 2026.
