The Qatari Cabinet approved the accession of the State of Qatar to the Agreement on the Liberalization of Trade in Services among Arab Countries. The agreement comes within the framework of achieving the objectives of the Greater Arab Free Trade Area and aims to liberalize trade in services between countries through three axes. The first is to develop a general framework for the gradual liberalization of trade in services among Arab countries and create a favorable environment to facilitate trade in services among them, with the aim of strengthening and activating Arab economic cooperation and integration.
The second axis includes the promotion of common interests of Arab countries in the field of services on the basis of mutual benefit and balance between rights and obligations. The third axis takes into account the development conditions of each of the States parties to the Convention, in particular the conditions of the least developed Arab countries.
