Suez Canal revenues witnessed a notable recovery recently, driven by reduced tensions in the Red Sea region that had been affecting global maritime movement due to attacks on cargo vessels. This recovery is attributed to more stable commercial shipping routes and an increase in vessel traffic, reflecting the strategic importance of the canal as a vital passageway for global trade. This also underscores the role of maritime security in reinforcing economic performance for ports and key waterways.

The Suez Canal Authority revealed that canal revenues increased by 14.2 percent year-on-year between July and October due to calmer conditions in the Red Sea following the ceasefire in Gaza and the rebound in maritime traffic through the key waterway.
