The proceeds of remittances from Egyptians working abroad increased by 51.3 percent in 2024 to reach about $ 29.6 billion, compared to about $ 19.5 billion in 2023.
According to Central Bank of Egypt data, the monthly outcome reached its highest level since the exchange rate was liberalized at $ 3.2 billion, compared to about $ 1.6 billion in December 2023.
The inflows witnessed last December are unprecedented in this month of each year, as the proceeds of remittances during it increased by 24.5 percent compared to the previous month of November 2024, which witnessed remittances from Egyptians abroad by about $ 2.6 billion.
