U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed to a 30-day pause over his threats to impose tariffs on Mexico and Canada as America's two biggest trading partners take steps to allay concerns about border security and drug trafficking.
The pause provides a lull after a tumultuous few days that have put North America on the cusp of a trade war that threatens to crush economic growth, cause prices to rise and end two of America's most important partnerships. The pause followed a similar move with Mexico that allows for a period of negotiations on drug trafficking and illegal immigration.
