The International Monetary Fund (IMF) expects Qatar's real GDP to grow by 2 percent in 2024 and 2025, supported by public investment, in addition to the positive effects of the expansion of liquefied natural gas production and the growth of the tourism sector.
In its final communiqué of its Article IV consultation mission in Qatar, the IMF expects the country's average annual growth to be around 4.75 percent over the medium term, driven by the expansion of the North Field, which is expected to raise Qatar's capacity to produce more than 140 million tons per year of liquefied gas, in addition to implementing reforms under the Third National Development Strategy.
