Moroccan Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch revealed Morocco's intention to raise the capacity of the country's airports to 80 million passengers by 2030, compared to 38 million currently.
"The plan comes within the framework of Morocco's preparations to host the 2030 FIFA World Cup, in partnership with Spain and Portugal, and to promote tourism," Akhannouch said in a speech to the House of Representatives, pointing out that "the capacity of Casablanca airport will increase to 23.3 million passengers, while the capacity of Marrakech airport will reach 14 million passengers and the capacity of Agadir airport will reach 6.3 million by 2030."
Morocco welcomed 15.9 million tourists in the first 11 months of this year, surpassing last year's rate thanks to an increase in airlines.
