Saudi Arabia's Non-Oil Exports Increased by 7.5 Percent

Data from the General Authority for Statistics in Saudi Arabia showed that non-petroleum exports, which include re-exports, increased by 7.5% in August to about 27.5 billion riyals, compared to about 25.6 billion riyals in August 2023.

Saudi non-petroleum exports (excluding re-exports) increased by 3%, while the value of re-exported goods increased to 18.9% in the same period. Merchandise exports in August 2024 decreased by 9.8% to 92.8 billion riyals, compared to about 102.9 billion riyals from August 2023, as a result of the decrease in petroleum exports by 15.5% to about 65.25 billion riyals.

The percentage of petroleum exports in total exports decreased from 75.1% in August 2023 to 70.3% in August 2024. As for imports, they decreased in August 2024 by 3.9%.
