Egypt's Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, predicted reaching the target of "30 million tourists per year" by 2031 if new geopolitical changes do not occur in the region.

He stressed that the strategy announced by the Egyptian government during the last period was very ambitious, and did not take into account the political and military crises that affected the repercussions on the countries of the region and the world.

Minister Fathy predicted that "Egypt, which owns about a third of the world's antiquities, will witness this year an increase in the number of tourists coming to Egypt, to be 15.2 million tourists in 2024, compared to 14.906 million tourists in 2023.
