The latest indicators show that global turmoil due to wars as well as climate change has dragged back the pace of Arab exports, which requires governments in the region to mobilize more efforts to avoid the worst if tensions persist.

According to a recent report issued by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), the value of total Arab merchandise exports recorded a decline of 11.5 percent during 2023, reaching $ 1.4 trillion. The report, titled 'Arab Trade in 2023: Trends and Highlights', highlighted the most important trends, challenges, and opportunities in the region's trade sector.
