Industrial Performance Boosts Oman's Economic Diversification

Oman's industrial sector has made an important leap in several key indicators, achieving the highest GDP growth compared to other sectors, to be a locomotive of sustainable growth and one of the most important pillars of economic diversification in Vision 2040. The latest data issued by the Government Statistics and Information Center showed that manufacturing industries witnessed a growth of 9.2 percent by the end of the first quarter of 2024 at constant prices with an annual comparison.

The value of manufacturing output increased from 871 million riyals ($2.26 billion) to $2.47 billion in all industrial activities, accounting for 10 percent of GDP. The output of basic chemicals industries increased by 6.4 percent from $826.5 million to $879.58 million and the output of other manufacturing industries by 6.3 percent from $1.33 billion to $1.14 billion.
