Russia's Trade Surplus Rises 20 Percent

The value of Russian exports in the first seven months of this year rose by 0.75 percent to reach $ 241 billion.

According to the Russian Customs Service, Russian exports to Europe in the first half of this year fell by 30 percent to $37.4 billion, and to the United States by 13.5 percent to $7.6 billion. In contrast, imports decreased by 8.5 percent to $153.1 billion, with Russian imports from Europe in the period from January to July 2024 amounting to about $41.5 billion, down by 11.6 percent, from Asia $101.1 billion, down by 5.9 percent, and the United States $8.1 billion, down by 12.3 percent. Thus, the trade surplus in Russia's favor increased by 20 percent to reach $87.9 billion in the first seven months of this year.
