Gold prices held steady during Thursday’s trading session (July 3, 2025) following the announcement of a trade agreement between the U.S. and Vietnam, and ahead of the U.S. monthly jobs report.

Gold futures rose slightly by 0.1% to $3,364.4 per ounce.

President Donald Trump announced that the U.S. would impose tariffs that are 20% lower than previously promised on a range of Vietnamese goods. Vietnam is the U.S.’s 10th largest trading partner. Trump showed no sign of extending the deadline for talks with Japan, despite stalled negotiations, but voiced optimism about a potential agreement with India.
