China's Exports Beat Expectations and Increased by 8.7 Percent

China's exports rose 8.7 percent year-on-year in U.S. dollar terms in August, higher than expectations for growth of 6.5 percent year-on-year in U.S. dollars, according to a Reuters poll.

China's exports to its main trading partners - the United States, the European Union, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations - have risen. Exports to the EU also grew further, by 13 percent. In contrast, China's imports from the United States rose by 12 percent, while imports from the European Union fell. Imports from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations rose by 5 percent. As for China's imports from Russia fell by 1 percent, while exports rose by 10 percent.
