Tunisia's annual consumer price inflation continued to decline for the second consecutive month, reaching 6.7 percent year-on-year in August. In July, inflation slowed from the previous month, falling to 7 percent year-on-year from 7.3 percent (year-on-year) in June.

The government's National Institute of Statistics attributed the decline in the annual inflation rate, despite the monthly increase in prices, mainly to the slowdown in the pace of rising prices of the food group by 8.5 percent in August compared to 9.4 percent in July.
