Expanding Investments between Qatar and Sweden

Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry (QCCI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Swedish Trade and Investment Council (STIB) to enhance cooperation and help Qatari companies increase investments and expand in Sweden, as well as help Swedish companies increase investment and expansion in Qatar. This was on the sidelines of the visit of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to the Kingdom of Sweden. The MoU includes exploring opportunities for cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, and economy, with the aim of strengthening trade and economic relations and encouraging investment in the two countries.

The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani, pointed to the great development in trade and economic relations between the two countries in recent years, as the volume of trade exchange increased by 79 percent during the past year to about 1.55 billion riyals ($ 425 million), compared to 866 million riyals in 2022.

The Chairman of Qatar Chamber called on Swedish companies to invest in Qatar, which has become a global center for business and investment, through its world-class infrastructure, business-friendly environment, in addition to a set of economic legislation that stimulates investment, which allows the percentage of foreign investor ownership in many sectors to reach 100%.
