Market research platform MAGNiTT has observed a decline in venture capital flows into Arab markets since the beginning of this year, as investors sought to seize more early-stage deals to raise less money.

The company's data showed that funding for startups in the Middle East and North Africa declined by more than a third in the first half of 2024 on an annual basis.

Venture capital investments in the first six months of 2020 reached $768 million, the worst performance in the first half since the pandemic, and the number of deals fell by 18 percent to 211 deals during this period. The data reflects a broader slowdown in the sector, with investors shifting their attention toward early-stage funding rounds of $1 million to $5 million.
