Dubai ranked fourth globally in the World Tourism Organization's "Most Visited Cities 2024" report, according to a predictive analysis. Istanbul topped the list, with the Turkish city seeing a huge number of international visitors, with 20.2 million visitors in 2023. It was followed in second place by London, which despite a slight decline in visitors in 2023, still manages significant tourist traffic, being a global hub for finance, culture, and tourism, and welcomed 18.8 million international arrivals last year. Paris was third in forecasts for the most visited cities this year. As a classic tourist destination, the French capital may see an increase from 15.5 million visitors in 2023, especially as it hosts important events soon, especially the 2024 Summer Olympics, which will attract more expatriates.
The list of the 10 most visited cities in 2024 includes: Istanbul, London, Paris, Dubai, Antalya, Hong Kong, Bangkok, New York, Cancun, Mexico, and Tokyo.
