The value of remittances of expatriate workers in Qatar abroad last year amounted to 42.3 billion riyals ($ 11.6 billion), compared to 44.161 billion riyals in 2022.
According to a survey issued by the Qatar Central Bank, remittances of expatriate workers grew in the first quarter of last year by about 4.42 percent at 11.15 billion riyals, while remittances declined in the next three quarters. The value of remittances to Qatar reached 12.83 billion riyals, up 41.35 percent compared to its level in 2022 of 9.08 billion riyals. Qatar recorded outward remittances worth 63.82 billion riyals in 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 3.98 percent.
