According to a report entitled "Employment and Social Prospects in the Arab States – Trends 2024: Promoting Social Justice through a Just Transition", the International Labor Organization (ILO) predicted that the unemployment rate in the Arab region will record a slight decline of 9.8 percent in 2024 from 9.9 percent at the end of last year.
According to the organization's report, the persistence of the high unemployment rate in the region reflects various factors affecting the region's labor markets such as retail, political instability, conflicts, economic crises, weak private sector, and demographic pressures.
