Tunisia's annual consumer price inflation growth slowed to 7.8 percent in January from 8.1 percent in December, the lowest since May 2022.

Data released by Tunisia's National Institute of Statistics (governmental) showed inflation growth slowing for the fifth consecutive month. According to the institute, annual food price inflation reached 12.1 percent in January, amid a rise in the prices of vegetables by 19.3 percent, vegetable oils by 22.7 percent, and fish by 11.9 percent. Although inflation fell last month to its lowest level since May 2022, it is still above the central bank's medium-term target of nearly 3 percent.
