Oil prices rose slightly in early Asian trading on Wednesday, amid continuing concerns about shipping disruptions in the Red Sea and escalating tensions in the Middle East.

Brent crude rose 26 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $76.11 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 26 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $70.64.

Oil prices rose about $2 earlier this week after attacks by the Houthis on ships in the Red Sea.
