American researcher Ben Gortzl said in an interview with AFP on the sidelines of the "Web Summit" in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro that artificial intelligence may be a substitute for 80% of jobs in years, "which is a good thing."
The Brazilian-born researcher caused a stir during the Web Summit by demonstrating robotic nurse Grace designed to take care of elderly people in their care homes. Gortzl is credited with what is known as "artificial general intelligence" (AIG), a key technology with human cognitive capabilities that can be scalable "in a few years", and he is also behind the Singularity Net platform dedicated to the decentralized and open development of artificial intelligence.
